Chicky the chicken found a pair of red shoes near the farm gate. “Oh! Beautiful shoes!” she said. She put them on. The shoes were much too big. Chicky took one step. Clop. She took another step. Clop clop. “Now I am a fast chicken!” she shouted. She started running around the farm. The cow said, “Be careful!” But Chicky did not listen. She ran past the pigs. She ran past the ducks. She ran past the farmer. Then one shoe flew into the air. The other shoe flew into the mud. Chicky slipped. SPLASH! She landed in a muddy puddle. The pig looked at her and said, “Welcome to the mud club.” Chicky stood up. She was brown from head to toe. “Do I still look beautiful?” she asked. The cow said, “Yes. Now you have brown shoes, brown feathers, and a brown face.” Chicky smiled. “Great! New fashion!”
